Montessori School Barbados was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide children with a learning environment that nurtures their natural curiosity, independence, and love for learning. Since opening our doors in 2004, we’ve been dedicated to the Montessori method, creating a close-knit, community-focused school where every child is encouraged to explore, grow, and develop at their own pace. From our humble beginnings, we have grown into a trusted institution that serves children from early childhood through primary school, always guided by our core values of respect, inclusion, and educational excellence.

Our Journey

The Evolution of Montessori School Barbados

Maria Montessori School of Barbados, originally established as Wee Pals Montessori Preschool, has evolved into a leading educational institute to children aged 3 to 11. Our classes follow the authentic Montessori mixed age ranges with Primary 1 being our 3- to 6-year-old students and then as the school unfolds, we will have our 6- to 9-year-olds and 9- to 11-year-olds in the Primary 2 and 3 classes, respectively.

Since its inception, the school has championed the Montessori method, fostering essential skills such as critical thinking and creativity. There is a special focus on inclusivity, and we have a small early intervention program, in our toddler class, providing personalized support for learners with developmental delays. Over the years, the school has become a trusted choice for families seeking quality education and nurturing learning environments.

Our campus is designed with children in mind, offering a warm and inviting environment that encourages exploration and discovery. With open, light-filled classrooms and dedicated outdoor spaces, children have the freedom to move, play, and learn at their own pace. Our carefully prepared Montessori environment includes low shelves and age-appropriate materials, fostering independence and concentration while nurturing each child’s natural curiosity.
