About Montessori School Barbados

Rooted in Montessori, Growing with Barbados

Our Story

Building A Legacy Of Learning

Montessori School Barbados was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to provide children with a learning environment that nurtures their natural curiosity, independence, and love for learning. Since opening our doors in 2004, we’ve been dedicated to the Montessori method, creating a close-knit, community-focused school where every child is encouraged to explore, grow, and develop at their own pace. From our humble beginnings, we have grown into a trusted institution that serves children from early childhood through primary school, always guided by our core values of respect, inclusion, and educational excellence.

Our Journey

The Evolution of Montessori School Barbados

Maria Montessori School of Barbados, originally established as Wee Pals Montessori Preschool, has grown into a Montessori learning community serving children from toddler age through the primary years. Our classes follow authentic Montessori mixed-age groupings, with Primary 1 serving children ages 3–6 and Primary 2 serving children ages 6–9. As the school continues to grow, Primary 3 will extend the program to children ages 9–11.

From the beginning, the school has championed the Montessori method, fostering independence, critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. We also place a strong emphasis on inclusivity, with a small early intervention program within our toddler class that provides personalized support for children with developmental delays.

Our Purpose

Guiding Every Child’s Journey & building a foundation for lifelong learning

Our Vision

Our vision is to create a nurturing, stimulating environment where every child can grow and develop to their fullest potential through the Montessori method. We are committed to fostering lifelong learners who are confident, independent, and prepared for the challenges of the future.

Our Mission

At Montessori Schools Barbados, we follow the Montessori model, providing child-centered education that encourages critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. We aim to foster independence and a natural love of learning in every child, promoting inclusion for those with developmental delays and providing the interventions necessary for all children to learn at their own pace.

With open, light-filled classrooms and dedicated outdoor spaces, children have the freedom to move, play, and learn at their own pace.
