Supporting Every Child

Early Intervention Program

Inclusive, Individualized, Intentional

A Tailored Approach to Early Support

Our early intervention program is thoughtfully integrated within the Wee Pals toddler class and grows with the student as they move into our primary school. This is a small offering connecting families with the relevant supports both at school and outside of our environment – this can be Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Behaviour Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy as well as other holistic and extra-curricular activities that may be beneficial to the student.

As we meet and assess each learner entering our environment, we will determine whether they need additional support in the classroom with an educational assistant. Once the child’s team has been formed, we will develop goals for specific skills we want to target during their time with us and organize meetings before, during and after each term to set new goals, assess progress with current teaching strategies and address changes we need to make in order to enhance the students learning. It is important to us that they don’t need to change their learning style to suit us, but that we can meet them where they are and encourage further learning and skill acquisition.

Please note: This program is available only to children enrolled in our toddler class. Due to the specialized nature and continuity of care required, we are unable to accommodate new special needs enrollments directly into the primary school if the child has not participated in our early intervention track from the toddler stage.
